The Electrical Engineer position is responsible for designing, maintaining, implementing, or improving electrical instrumentation, facilities, components, equipment products, or systems for industrial purposes. This position also designs, develops or supervises the installation of electrical equipment, components, or systems for industrial use.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Degree.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Electrical Engineering (active and in good standing).
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in industrial power distribution.
  • Minimum 5 years AutoCAD experience with version 2007 or later, including 2 years’ experience with version 2010 or later. Experience in AutoCAD MEP package and Inventor design software a plus.
  • Must have advanced knowledge of electrical design principles and be able to apply sophisticated methods to complex situations.
  • Controls knowledge a plus.
  • Experience in glass plant design and electric boost a plus.
Job Requirements
  • Design plant power distribution systems starting at the incoming power supply from the utility department and continuing through the unit substations located within the plant which may include lighting, grounding, and lighting protection services.
  • Design low voltage power distribution from in plant unit substations continuing through power distribution panels and motor control centers.
  • Specify and write up bills of materials and equipment specifications required for the above-mentioned power distribution systems.
  • Must be familiar with coordination, load, capacity, and fault studies, as well as arc flash labeling. Current code knowledge is required.
  • Develop single line diagrams, load and cable schedules and demolition drawings, and oversee these tasks as executed by others.
  • Supervise the work of outside electrical contractors.
  • Ability to communicate with client to determine design requirements and identify areas to improve client process and experience.
  • Ability to develop scope of work documents, along with engineering/material/construction estimates.
Typical Duties
  • Assumes responsibility for technical accuracy and constructability of finished designs.
  • Determines how complex control systems should function, including layout of initial design concept and determine drawing standards and perform detailed comprehensive checking of designs/drawings.
  • Use computer aided design/engineering methods to accomplish above duties.
Assistance
  • Will report to the Director of Engineering and will provide direct project support to the Project Management Group.
