Project Sales Manager - Waterworks

Kuhlman Corporation, part of The Gerken Companies, is seeking a Project Sales Manager – Waterworks.

In this essential role, you will spearhead sales activities for underground utility systems, including waterlines, storm sewers, and sanitary sewers. You will be the technical backbone of exciting projects from bidding to execution.

• Review project plans and specifications
• Conduct material takeoffs for utility projects
• Prepare submittal packages for compliance
• Collaborate with contractors and internal teams
• Track projects from bid to completion
• Work with sales and operations for smooth execution
• Maintain strong customer relationships
• Identify opportunities for improvement
• Be flexible with working hours when needed

• Knowledge of underground utility materials and construction methods
• Ability to read and understand civil drawings and plans
• Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills
• Effective communication, coordination, and problem‑solving skills
• Experience managing multiple projects in a fast‑paced setting
• Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as Net Suite and Microsoft Office
• A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred, or 4+ years of relevant experience in underground utility construction or materials sales may also be acceptable.
