Your mission, roles and responsibilitiesThe Quality Engineer within production drives the Faurecia QSE method and ensures product conformity in accordance with the control plan and the right application of the quality principles (QSE, respect of the ISO/TS 16949 and IATF 16949…).
- Approve and implement internal work instructions on the production lines to ensure necessary inspections, time allocation in standardized work sheets, and availability of measuring equipment meeting requirements.
- Ensure the respect of the control plan and archive required quality records in accordance with the plan.
- Define and update inspection instructions according to the control plan.
- Organize and perform gauge R&R studies; conduct measurements and data collection on engineering samples, record SPC data, and coordinate line trial data collection.
- Assess new and existing manufacturing methods, including tooling, fixtures, layouts and equipment, for potential quality/cost improvements; supervise pre-production and pre-launch activities.
- Conduct Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) in conjunction with advanced quality‑planning activities; compile contents and ensure compliance with customer requirements for all initial production part submissions.
- Interface with customers using online quality monitoring systems (GM Supply Power/GZTS, Ford Covisint, Stellantis e‑supplier connect…) and respond promptly to ensure zero non‑conformances.
- Visit customers and suppliers as necessary, acting as liaison to internal and external stakeholders.
- Contact suppliers to implement urgent actions for defect‑free parts production; assist evaluation and implementation of supplier corrective actions.
- Assure compliance with the documented quality system (IATF‑16949) and promote consistency throughout the organization regarding the Quality Management System.
- Preferably a Bachelor’s degree.
- At least 2 years of production experience (preferably in automotive).
- 2‑3 years in a quality role with strong knowledge of quality methods (APQP, PPAP, QRCI, problem‑solving, 8 Quality Basics…).
