Working with our surveying team
, you will help expand Fishbeck’s surveying practice in the Ohio market while leading impactful projects that support transportation engineering, municipal, and construction initiatives across the region.
- Lead and oversee field survey operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Plan and coordinate survey projects, including scheduling and resource management.
- Interpret legal documents, plats, and engineering drawings to determine property boundaries.
- Perform complex calculations and data analysis for boundary, topographic, construction, and control surveys.
- Review and validate survey data for compliance with industry and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and clients to develop scope and workplans for a variety of projects.
- Mentor junior survey staff and promote technical growth.
- Prepare and review survey reports, plats, and documentation for clients and agencies.
- Establish survey workflows, QA/QC processes, and best practices for a growing team.
- Assist in project budgeting, estimating, and proposal development.
- Help grow Fishbeck’s presence in Ohio by strengthening relationships with ODOT, counties, municipalities, and local partners.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Licensed Professional Surveyor in Ohio.
- 5+ years of progressive surveying experience.
- Strong understanding of boundary, topographic, construction, and control surveys.
- Skilled in robotic total stations, RTK GPS, and data collectors.
- Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Micro Station.
- Proven ability to lead field crews and manage daily operations.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, lift up to 50 lbs., walk or stand for extended periods, and perform tasks requiring bending, kneeling, and climbing. Good vision, hand-eye coordination, and spatial awareness are essential.
