Job Duties and Responsibilities- Support engineers in developing, testing, and refining manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Set up, calibrate, and maintain production equipment.
- Identify and resolve mechanical or process-related issues to minimize downtime.
- Record operational data such as cycle times, scrap rates, and machine performance.
- Analyze trends to support engineering decisions.
- Assist in inspections, audits, and validation of parts and processes to ensure compliance with automotive industry standards.
- Update and maintain process instructions, equipment logs, and technical reports to ensure accurate and current records.
- Troubleshoots assembly equipment, and component related faults and issues to reduce line downtime and scrap.
- Provides wall to wall technical supportto all assembly related equipment and processes including specialized test machines: dynamic backlash testers, function testers, and NVH equipment.
- Identify and fulfill engineering improvement projectsassociated with reoccurring equipment downtime, station cycle time improvements, assembly first time through issues - both proactive and reactive quality and safety concerns.
- Works in conjunction with maintenance and engineering to facilitate equipment/machine repairs.
- Support “Core Teams” and their initiatives to drive continuous improvement in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost as required.
- Assist Process Engineers with testing and development of new tooling to support product changes and program launches.
- Interpret blueprints and specifications – Components, Assemblies, Tooling.
- Follows change management procedure for process changes.
- Responsible for PLC and Fanuc robot technical support.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma, Trade School, or Associate’s Degree
- Additional formal education in technical field will be encouraged to expand capabilities and to prepare for future opportunities within organization.
- 4+ years of experience
- Strong technical/troubleshooting ability and attention to detail.
- Experience with automation equipment and processes is a plus.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to perform multiple tasks required to simultaneously and deal with stressful situations.
- Must be a self-starterand able to work with limited supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with people across multiple organizational levels.
- Ability to work overtime when needed to complete required tasks or provide support.
