Personal Financial Counselor, Assignment Ready Counselor, PFC-Toledo, OH

This position will provide coverage in short‑term, surge, and on‑demand situations resulting from military needs such as post‑deployment events or coverage for absent counselors. The primary responsibilities include the full breadth of personal financial counseling services to service members and their families at military installations. Services span one‑on‑one counseling, briefings, presentations, and referral resources outside of counseling sessions.

• Provide direct personal financial counseling and management services.
• Assist service members in establishing spending plans for extended absences.
• Develop and distribute informational financial materials to service members and families.
• Coordinate, publicize, and deliver Personal Financial Management classes and workshops covering the military lifecycle.
• Respond to requests for age‑appropriate classes or seminars.
• Utilize virtual counseling and electronic communication modes, including secure online chat and video‑based communications as authorized.
• Manage duty‑to‑warn situations per DoD protocol.
• Communicate with leadership and participate in regular supervision, sharing trends and issues on assigned installations.
• Participate in in‑services, training, quality improvement committees, and other contract activities as assigned.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree required (or associate degree plus 4 years of experience; or high school diploma plus 6 years of experience).
• Minimum 3 years of financial counseling experience.
• U.S. citizen and fluent in English; bilingual in English and Spanish if required by contract.
• Must obtain a favorable Tier 2 investigation.
• Must pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
• Must hold one of the following certifications:
  Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).

Salary Range: $58,440 – $93,500 (base salary)
