Trust Company Family Offices is seeking an Investment & Trading Associate professional to join our dedicated multi-family office investment team.

This is an apprentice‑style role working closely with experienced investment professionals across portfolio management, trading, and client servicing functions. This individual will gain hands‑on experience in portfolio operations, equity and fixed income trading, investment reporting, and client support while contributing to the precision, responsiveness, and overall effectiveness of the firm’s investment platform.

Trade Execution & Desk Support
  • Execute equity and fixed income trades in support of portfolio strategy and client objectives
  • Obtain competitive bids on bond transactions
  • Coordinate with brokers/internal teams to proactively resolve trade issues and ensure settlement
  • Maintain organized, auditable broker documentation, trade confirmations, and execution records
Advisory & External Account Support
  • Partner with portfolio officers on trade execution support and investment communications
  • Manage trades for external and advisory accounts
  • Set up broker structure for non‑custodied portfolios
  • Audit standing instructions and broker instruction letters
  • Monitor and reconcile open limit orders to support disciplined trade execution and risk oversight
  • Ensure sufficient cash and asset availability for transactions
  • Review pricing reports and investigate discrepancies to maintain portfolio valuation accuracy
  • Coordinate month‑end and structured security pricing activities with broker counter parties
  • Verify callable bond schedules and key dates
  • Track soft dollar balances and payments for purchased services
  • Ensure soft dollar compliance with regulations and assist with annual reporting summaries
Bloomberg & Investment Reporting
  • Create and maintain Bloomberg accounts and reporting tools for externally managed portfolios
  • Maintain bond rating reports and Quick Search uploads
Reporting
  • Prepare reports and presentation materials for clients, board, and consultant review meetings
  • Compile market, economic, and investment data to support portfolio review discussions
Account Administration & Support
  • Ensure integrity for new account setup, transfers, and cost basis continuity
  • Monitor portfolio liquidity needs and coordinate transactions to support client requirements
  • Provide backup client service and custom reporting support
  • Execute trades and maintain pledged securities for bank‑related accounts
  • Track CD interest and support regulatory report requirements
  • Support strong trading controls, process integrity, and audit readiness in investment activities
  • Collaborate with management, operations, and auditors on investment processes and reporting
Technical Skills & Tools
  • Knowledge of equity and fixed income instruments and compliance standards
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (finance or economics)
  • 2 to 5 years of professional experience preferred (investments or finance)
  • Advanced Excel skills in data validation, automation, and performance tracking
  • Strong multi‑tasking, prioritization, and initiative towards achieving results
  • Effective communication skills with clients, peers, brokers, auditors, and teammates
  • Highly organized, dependable, and committed to delivering exceptional support, accuracy, and professionalism in a collaborative investment environment
