Overview
Toledo Clinic's Timberstone Family Practice Office located on Holland-Sylvania Rd in Toledo OH is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant. This position will work Monday-Thursday, 20 hours per week. The hours will vary on these days. Qualified candidates are required to have an active MA credential such as the RMA/CMA/CCMA or able to obtain such credential within 60 days of hire.
Toledo Clinic is offering a $2,000 Sign-On Bonus to qualified Medical Assistants. If qualified, sign on bonuses are payable within 30 days of hire to employees that have active and verified credentials (ex: RMA/CMA/CCMA/CPCT-A). For employees that have not yet obtained or renewed their credential, the Sign-On Bonus is payable once the credential is obtained and verified. After one year of service, qualified Medical Assistants may be eligible for an additional $2,000 Retention Bonus.
GeneralSummary
Assist physician(s) with patient treatment, prepares patient for physician(s), and performs various clerical duties. Works under the supervision of the Office Manager.
PrincipalDuties & Responsibilities
- Assist Drs. with patient care (i.e.: assisting with minor procedures/surgeries such as removing sutures, staples, moles, etc.).
- Perform various clerical duties (e.g.: answering phones, scheduling appointments, handling patient charts, etc.).
- Escort patients to exam room.
- Prepare exam rooms.
- Prepare patients for doctors (e.g.: histories, blood pressure, vitals, etc.).
- Sterilize and prepare instruments.
- At the request of the physician, call in prescription refills.
- Order and maintain exam room supplies and instruments.
- Follow up with lab work and/or X-rays.
- Administer injections.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Excellent interpersonal skills required.
- Consistently arrives at work, in professional attire, on time and completes all tasks within established time frame.
- Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.
- Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.
- Credentialed as a Medical Assistant (i.e.: CMA or RMA).
Medical Assisting degree or diploma from an accredited school required.
Preferred- Clinical medical assisting experience preferred.
