Position: MEDICAL ASSISTANT or LPN/ENDOCRINOLOGY - M-F, 8:00-4:30

Overview

Toledo Clinic's Endocrinology Department is seeking a full-time Credentialed Medical Assistant or LPN to provide clinical and some clerical duties in a fast paced office. This position will be scheduled Mon-Thurs (8-4:30) and Fri (8-4). MAs are required to have the RMA/CMA/CCMA. LPNs are required to have an active license in Ohio.

Toledo Clinic is offering a $2,000 Sign-On Bonus to qualified Medical Assistants. Sign-On Bonuses are payable within 30 days of hire to employees that have active and verified credentials (ex: RMA/CMA/CCMA/CPCT/A). For candidates that have not yet obtained or need to renew their credential, the Sign-On Bonus is payable once the credential is obtained and verified. After one year of service, qualified Medical Assistants will be eligible for an additional $2,000 Retention Bonus.

Principal

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assist Drs. with patient care (i.e.: assisting with minor procedures/surgeries such as removing sutures, staples, moles, etc.).
  • Various clerical duties (i.e.: answering phones, scheduling appointments, handling patient charts, etc.).
  • Escorting patients to exam room.
  • Preparing exam rooms.
  • Preparing patient for Drs. (i.e.: histories, blood pressure, vitals, etc.).
  • Sterilizing and preparing instruments.
  • At the request of the physician, calling in prescription refills.
  • Order and maintain exam room supplies and instruments.
  • Follow up with lab work and/or xrays.
  • Administering injections.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Required:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills required.
  • Consistently arrives at work, in professional attire, on time and completes all tasks within established time frame.
  • Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.
  • Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.
  • Credentialed as a Medical Assistant (i.e.: CMA or RMA) or Licensed as LPN (OH).

Education:

  • Medical Assisting degree or diploma from an accredited school or nursing degree.
Preferred
  • Clinical medical assisting experience preferred.
