Role Description

This is a full‑time hybrid role for a Financial Counselor based in the Toledo, Ohio Metropolitan Area. The Financial Counselor will assist patients with financial counseling, including insurance verification, determining eligibility for financial assistance, and providing guidance on payment options. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include interacting with patients to explain financial obligations, collaborating with insurance providers, and ensuring accurate documentation of financial arrangements.

Qualifications
  • Experience in Financial Counseling, Finance, and navigating payment options for healthcare services.
  • Proficiency in Insurance Verification and a strong understanding of healthcare plans.
  • Customer Service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with patients.
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology to effectively understand and interpret patient and provider needs.
  • Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting and an understanding of healthcare systems preferred.
  • Proficiency with relevant software and patient management systems is a plus.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in finance or healthcare is advantageous.
