Job Overview
Toledo Clinic's Nephrology Department is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to provide both clinical and administrative duties in a fast paced office. This position will work Monday-Thursday (8:00-4:30) and Friday (8:00-2:00). Qualified candidates will have an active MA credential (RMA/CMA/CCMA) or the ability to obtain such credential within 60 days of employment.
Signing BonusToledo Clinic is offering a $2,000 Sign-On Bonus to qualified Medical Assistants. If qualified, sign on bonuses are payable within 30 days of hire to employees that have active and verified credentials (ex: RMA/CMA/CCMA/CPCT-A). For employees that have not yet obtained or renewed their credential, the Sign-On Bonus is payable once the credential is obtained and verified. After one year of service, qualified Medical Assistants may be eligible for an additional $2,000 Retention Bonus.
GeneralSummary
Assist providers with patient treatment, prepares patient for providers, and performs various clerical duties. Works under the supervision of the Office Manager.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Consistently arrive at work on time and adhere to the regular work schedule.
- Assist providers with patient care, including minor procedures such as removing sutures, staples, and moles.
- Perform various clerical duties, such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and handling patient charts.
- Escort patients to exam rooms.
- Prepare exam rooms.
- Prepare patients for providers, including taking histories, measuring blood pressure, and recording vitals.
- Sterilize and prepare instruments.
- Call in prescription refills at the physician’s request.
- Order and maintain exam room supplies and instruments.
- Follow up with lab work and/or x-rays.
- Administer injections.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Consistently arrive at work in appropriate and professional attire.
- Complete all tasks within established time frames.
- Adhere to all clinic policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.
- Seek appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assist co‑workers as needed.
- Demonstrate adaptability to expanded roles.
- Credentialed as a Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA).
- Knowledge of Medicare Exclusion List.
- Medical Assisting degree or diploma from an accredited school.
- Clinical medical assisting experience.
