The Toledo Clinic's Endocrinology Department is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant (RMA/CMA/CCMA) to work full-time. The position is 4 days per week (8:00-5:00) with Friday a required day. The other 3 days can be discussed. This position will provide front office support (referrals, scheduling patients, checking patients out, answering messages) and run patients when needed. Qualified candidates will have an MA credential in addition to a certificate/diploma or able to obtain such credential within 60 days of employment.

Toledo Clinic is offering a $2,000 Sign-On Bonus to qualified Medical Assistants. If qualified, sign on bonuses are payable within 30 days of hire to employees that have active and verified credentials (ex: RMA/CMA/CCMA/CPCT-A). For employees that have not yet obtained or renewed their credential, the Sign-On Bonus is payable once the credential is obtained and verified. After one year of service, qualified Medical Assistants may be eligible for an additional $2,000 Retention Bonus.

General Summary

Assists with office operations by managing incoming and outgoing patient communication, scheduling patient appointments, managing prior authorizations, and preparing patient charts for providers.

Works under the supervision of the Physician Assistant

  • Consistently arrives at work on time and adheres to regular work schedule.
  • Answer and manage incoming and outgoing patient communication.
  • Manage incoming faxes.
  • Prepare and organize patient charts for providers (i.e.: ensuring all necessary patient records/information is updated in patient chart prior to appointment).
  • Manage prior authorizations for services and medications.
  • Assist with prescription refills and referral management.
  • Download diabetic patient status from Dexacom.
  • Assist, as needed, with preparing exam rooms, sterilizing and preparing instruments, escorting patients to exam rooms, preparing patients for providers.
  • Assist providers, as needed, with patient care (i.e.: assisting with minor procedures/surgeries, administering injections, etc.).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

Required:

  • Consistently arrives at work in appropriate/professional attire.
  • Completes all tasks within established time frame.
  • Adheres to all clinic policies and procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.
  • Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.
  • Credentialed as a Medical Assistant (i.e.: CMA or RMA).

Education:

  • Medical Assisting degree or diploma from an accredited school.

Preferred:

  • Clinical and clerical medical assisting experience.
