Summary:

Dispense medication prescribed by licensed health care providers Works under the supervisor of the Physician Dispenses drugs as prescribed by licensed health care provider. Educates patient about his/her prescriptions. Advises patients of alternatives (generics) for cost effectiveness. Verifies insurance information. Balances cash drawer. Maintains quality control and adherence to all regulation requirements, licensing and dispensing laws. Oversees the security of the pharmacy and its inventory.

Assist customers at the cash register. Stock over the counter medications or goods. Other duties as assigned.

Adheres to, and ensures department’s compliance with, the clinic’s policies and procedures. Maintains awareness of the department’s budget at all times and works within the budgetary figures. Interprets and reviews financials and offers explanation when expenses or liabilities are excessive. Establishes departmental goals and completes goals within established time frame. Effectively recruits, retains, disciplines and trains staff. Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.

Education:

Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. Previous pharmacy experience preferred.
