Position Summary:
The Quality Improvement (QI) Specialist assists with the coordination and administration of the organization’s Quality Improvement Program. This role is responsible for conducting comprehensive chart reviews to ensure compliance with client care standards, federal and state regulations, and Mental Health Board requirements. The QI Specialist monitors service delivery trends, identifies patterns and gaps in care or documentation, and supports ongoing quality improvement efforts.
Additionally, this position provides education, guidance, and consultation to clinical staff regarding best documentation practices, regulatory compliance, and quality standards to promote consistent, high-quality client care.
Key Responsibilities & Role Highlights:
- Review and verify document records to ensure compliance with regulations and internal quality improvement practices.
- Compile, manage, and analyze confidential data related to client concerns, staff performance, and critical incidents.
- Assist in the development and implementation of quality improvement plans and training programs.
- Coordinate the Health and Safety program, including documentation related to drills and facility inspections.
- Assist with scheduling, preparing materials, and performing other administrative tasks related to Quality Improvement and Medical Records activities.
- Assist the Client Rights Officer with timely investigation of client complaints, conduct interviews, and follow up with corrective actions.
- Attend and/or chair CQI Committee Meetings, and coordinate follow-up tasks.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a mental health-related field, business management, or health care administration preferred. An associate’s degree with relevant experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in the mental health field; experience in Quality Improvement or process improvement is preferred.
- Licensed LSW, LPC, LISW, LPCC, RN preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel (including data entry, formulas, and pivot tables).
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
