Banquet Houseperson

Department: Banquets / Event Services

Reports To: Banquet Manager or Director of Banquets

Position Summary

The Banquet Houseperson is responsible for setting up, maintaining, and breaking down banquet rooms and event spaces according to event orders and guest specifications. This role ensures all meeting rooms are clean, properly equipped, and ready for service, supporting the banquet servers and event team in delivering outstanding guest experiences.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Set up banquet rooms, meeting spaces, and pre-function areas according to event orders and diagrams.
  • Move, lift, and arrange tables, chairs, staging, podiums, dance floors, and other equipment as required.
  • Ensure all linens, skirting, and table settings are clean and properly placed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in all banquet and storage areas.
  • Assist banquet servers and event staff with service setup and breakdown as needed.
  • Refresh meeting rooms during events, including changing water service, resetting tables, and removing trash.
  • Report any maintenance issues or safety concerns to management immediately.
  • Ensure all equipment is stored properly and safely after each event.
  • Maintain communication with the Banquet Captain, Manager, and other departments to ensure smooth event execution.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation procedures as required by hotel policy.
Qualifications
  • Previous banquet, housekeeping, or event setup experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 75 lbs. and stand or walk for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Team-oriented with a positive and professional attitude.
Work Environment
  • Fast-paced hospitality environment involving frequent lifting and movement of heavy objects.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing event needs.
