Regulatory Compliance Specialist
The Opportunity:
The Benefits Compliance Service Associate provides administrative support to the Northeast region, Compliance Advisors, and Client Service teams in handling compliance-related client documents and deliverables. In this role, the incumbent will develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders while growing their Employee Benefits compliance knowledge and expertise.
Assist with developing client specific compliance documents such as a wrap documents, Section 125 plan documents, HIPAA binders, and other compliance related documents as directed. Gather information and assist in drafting client specific Summaries of Material Modifications (SMMs) for the service team. In coordination with the service teams, serve as a liaison between client and vendor to obtain and/or verify information necessary to support Form 5500 filings.
Under the guidance of the regional compliance advisor, collaborate with peers in other regions to support complex compliance requirements including vendor data collection and other assistance as needed. Develop an understanding of both federal and state level compliance requirements by attending regional legislative update calls as appropriate. Maintain compliance related documentation for assigned clients within Hylant’s agency management system(s). Under the guidance of the regional compliance advisor, draft compliance related client communications that will be delivered to the client by the service team.
Build and enhance relationships with internal service teams and stakeholders through continuous communication and progress updates on client deliverables. Perform other duties and special projects as requested.
High School diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred. Two or more years of experience in Employee Benefits or Human Resources preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Active Life & Health License, or the ability to obtain within 60 days of employment. Excellent organizational skills. Excellent communication skills, including listening, speaking, and writing. Ability and willingness to travel by car or airplane for meetings, conferences, or other business-related functions.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
