Overview
Harbor is seeking an IT Specialist to join our Toledo/BG team. This position supports the technical needs of Harbor's programs and assists users with both software and hardware related to those programs.
Job DetailsFull-time, in-office position. May require occasional weekend work depending on agency needs.
Education / Experience / Other Requirements- Minimum of an Associate's degree in computer science or communications and CompTIA A+ certification (or comparable); a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Comfortable training staff one-on-one or in classroom settings on technology software or equipment.
- Proficiency with Windows operating systems, Office 365 and Active Directory.
- Ability to quickly learn protocols, follow directions, maintain confidentiality, and work as a team player in a collaborative environment.
- Experience with Word Press/Web development helpful.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and work well under stress and time pressure.
- Ability to convey technical issues and material to a non-technical audience.
- Excellent written and interpersonal skills; strong problem-solving skills.
- Patient, conscientious, self-motivated, independent, and productive with strong customer-service skills.
- Transportation: willing to use personal car for job-related duties; valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and proof of personal auto insurance required.
- Ensures customer satisfaction by responding to calls, emails, and help-desk requests; provides desktop, hardware, software, network, phone, and application support.
- Assists staff with support of the Harbor website.
- Maintains accounts for Mitel phones.
- Assists in maintaining and deploying on-site hardware.
- Ensures timely resolution of issues/requests by tracking work orders and communicating status to staff.
- Trains Harbor staff on general IT items and the use of software and technology on an initial and ongoing basis.
- Assists in maintaining user accounts in Active Directory.
- Maintains understanding of Harbor's business-process workflows and the technology/software used.
- Tests updates, customizations, and new releases of software and technology; understands Harbor's network structure.
- Participates as an active member of the IT team, helping other members as required.
- Stays current with trends related to essential job competencies and demonstrates continued growth.
