The Opportunity
The Network Engineer designs, configures, and maintains Hylant's enterprise network and secure connectivity services, including LAN, WAN, wireless, VPN, next-generation firewall, and secure access (SASE) platforms. This role keeps Hylant's offices reliably and securely connected, delivers network work for infrastructure projects and acquisition integrations, and provides escalated troubleshooting for network and connectivity issues.
This individual will have the ability to work hybrid in our Toledo, Ohio office.
- Network Operations & Reliability:
Monitor availability, performance, and capacity; troubleshoot and resolve network incidents; analyze trends; and recommend improvements that strengthen uptime, capacity, security, and user experience. - Routing, Switching & Wireless:
Configure and maintain routers, switches, wireless controllers and access points, IP addressing and IPAM, DNS and DHCP, VLANs, 802.1X/NAC, and QoS for voice and Microsoft Teams calling; contribute to design, standards, upgrades, and equipment refresh initiatives. - Secure Connectivity:
Implement and maintain next-generation firewall and VPN configurations, secure access and secure web gateway policy, network segmentation, and remote access in accordance with Hylant security standards; support firmware, certificate, licensing, and resiliency lifecycle planning. - Cloud & Hybrid Networking:
Support connectivity between Hylant offices, Microsoft Azure, and cloud and SaaS platforms, including virtual network configuration, private connectivity and peering, zero trust network access, and traffic optimization for business critical platforms. - Offices, Projects & Acquisition Integration:
Deliver network work for new offices, office moves, and branch changes, and for the integration of acquired agencies, including site assessments, circuit coordination, cutover planning, execution, and post-cutover validation. - Change Management & Documentation:
Follow change control practices, including change requests, approved maintenance windows, testing, and rollback plans; maintain accurate diagrams, configuration standards, inventories, and runbooks; and provide network configuration evidence for internal reviews, external audits and assessments, cyber insurance applications, and client security questionnaires. - Support &
Collaboration:
Provide second- and third-level support for network-related incidents and requests, serve as a technical resource for cross-functional projects, and share network troubleshooting knowledge across the IT team.

- Education & Training:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred; relevant experience may substitute for a degree. - Ability to work in Toledo, OH office, hybrid.
- Experience:
3 plus years supporting LAN/WAN, wireless, routing, switching, firewalls, VPN, and enterprise network environments. - Technical Knowledge:
Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, IP…
