Role DescriptionWe are in search of a highly motivated and detail-oriented Paralegal to support our Business-Corporate and Wealth Preservation Practice Groups.
- Drafting routine legal estate planning, probate, transactional, and real estate documents for review by supervising attorney
- Preparing probate forms in various regional courts in NW Ohio and SE Michigan for review by supervising attorney
- Performing UCC searches
- Recording of deeds and other legal documents
- Assisting with due diligence to include review of contracts, title commitments and surveys, and coordinate and implement closings
- Connecting with clients
- Drafting routine correspondence
- Assisting with trust administration and related document preparation for review by supervising attorney

Job Requirements:- Candidate should possess an undergraduate degree, with strong preference for a paralegal certification by the Ohio State Bar Association (or equivalent);
- Familiarity with local, regional and state-level administrative agency procedural rules, including e-filing documents in appropriate agencies
- Minimum of three years of relevant paralegal experience in areas of estate planning, probate, real estate and business transactions, familiarity with both Ohio and Michigan probate courts preferred;
- Strong organizational skills;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including interpersonal communications with co-workers, clients, opposing counsel, vendors, and court staff;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe Acrobat applications;
- Strong attention to detail; self-starter; ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment; and enthusiasm for working as part of a team.
- Paralegal certification or relevant education is a plus
- Strong knowledge of Law and Legal Document Preparation
- Proficiency in Research and Document Review

Work Location:
Primarily based out of the Firm’s Toledo office but limited travel to the Firm’s Waterville and Findlay offices, with potential for periodic remote work
Compensation: salary commensurate with experience and qualifications, and bonus potential; benefits include health care, paid time off, life insurance and 401k deferred compensation.
