Assistant Attorney General – Workers' Compensation Section
The Ohio Attorney General's Office is seeking to fill Assistant Attorney General openings in our Workers' Compensation Section in the headquarters locations of Columbus, Toledo, Cincinnati, and Cleveland. The ideal candidates will preferably have two years of experience to represent the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation and the Industrial Commission of Ohio in common pleas and/or appellate courts and the Ohio Supreme Court.
The position is hybrid in-person/remote with possible changes based on training and operational needs.
- Manage a high-volume caseload.
- Case management, settlement evaluations and negotiations.
- Motion practice.
- Discovery (written and depositions).
- Trial and appellate court appearances.
- Occasionally administrative hearings.
- Write appellate briefs and/or oral advocacy.
- Licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio pursuant to Section 4705.01 of the Ohio Revised Code.
- Two years or more of experience working as an Attorney.
- Strong attention to detail, collaboration, strategic thinking, verbal communication, and written communication.
- Experience with appellate briefs and/or oral advocacy is beneficial.
Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8 am–5 pm. Compensation commensurate with experience.
