Janitor, Commercial Cleaning, Cleaning Services, Floor Tech/Cleaning
Precision Steel Services — Toledo, OH
Precision Steel Services has supplied steel across the Midwest since 1974. We are looking for a dependable Janitorial team member to help maintain a clean, safe, and organized workplace throughout our manufacturing facilities.
The RoleA clean facility does not happen by accident.
In this role, you will be responsible for keeping offices, restrooms, break rooms, common areas, and production spaces clean and orderly while also supporting industrial housekeeping throughout the shop.
This is not a position where you sweep one area all day.
You may clean around machinery, remove production debris, empty material hoppers, operate floor-cleaning equipment, move throughout multiple areas of the facility, and help with basic facility or housekeeping needs as they arise.
You will work both indoors and outdoors and should expect normal manufacturing conditions including heat, cold, noise, dust, grease, oil, and dirt.
The right person takes pride in cleanliness, notices when something is not up to standard, and does not need someone constantly pointing out what needs attention.

- Support minor facility tasks such as replacing light bulbs, changing dispensers, and other basic upkeep
- Follow cleaning schedules and checklists consistently
- Help teammates and other departments when additional cleanup or facility support is needed
- Keep cleaning equipment, supplies, and storage areas organized
- You take ownership of the areas assigned to you
- You notice dirt, debris, clutter, spills, and other issues without waiting for someone to point them out
- You maintain the same standard even when no one is watching
- You are willing to work in hot, cold, dusty, dirty, and non-climate-controlled conditions
- You are comfortable operating a forklift as part of the job
- You stay productive when your normal checklist is complete
- You communicate when another department or employee is repeatedly creating a housekeeping problem
- You ask for help when a task requires another department or skill set
- You work safely around active production equipment, forklifts, cranes, and employees
- You follow chemical-handling and safety requirements
- You show up reliably and understand that cleanliness depends on consistency
- You take pride in leaving an area noticeably better than you found it
- Assigned areas consistently meet a high cleanliness standard
- Floors, aisles, restrooms, break rooms, offices, and production spaces stay clean and orderly
- Trash, debris, swarf, and waste do not accumulate
- Hoppers are emptied before they create a problem
- Spills and housekeeping hazards are addressed quickly

- Checklists are completed consistently without constant supervision
- Employees can rely on the facility being clean and safe
