The Safety Specialist supports the development, implementation, and monitoring of company safety programs to ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements. This role partners with operations and field teams to identify hazards, investigate incidents, and promote a strong safety culture across the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Conduct safety inspections of facilities, equipment, and work practices to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions
- Monitor compliance with OSHA and applicable safety regulations and ensure employees understand and follow safety requirements
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and recordable events to identify root causes and recommend corrective and preventive actions
- Partner with Learning and Development to support safety training, onboarding, and ongoing employee education
- Review safety data, KPIs, and trends including DART and recordables to support risk mitigation efforts
- Document incidents, inspections, and corrective actions and maintain accurate safety records
- Support development and maintenance of safety policies, procedures, and standard operating practices
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or a combination of education, training, and experience
- 2 to 4 years of experience in a safety or compliance-related role
- Ability to write, implement, and follow standard operating procedures
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations, preferably within construction or home improvement environments
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status)
- OSHA 510 certification or ability to obtain within the first 90 days
- Experience supporting safety programs in construction, field operations, or manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with safety KPIs, risk mitigation strategies, and liability reduction
- Experience analyzing safety data and translating findings into actionable recommendations
- Occasional overnight travel is required (1‑10%)
- May be requested to work overtime on evenings and weekends dependent on business need

- Sedentary work; may involve exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body; predominantly sitting most of the time
