Job Description:

The Institute of Constitutional Thought & Leadership is looking to hire a Program Coordinator. This role assists with planning and executing logistics for the Institute's K-12 educational initiatives, as well as providing support for the Institute's public-facing events. This position works collaboratively with faculty, staff and the administration across the Institute to plan and execute programming logistics, manage collaboration with K-12 teachers and administrators in the Midwest, generate and execute new initiatives for engaging with K-12 teachers and students, and manage the Institute’s public events.

This position acts as a liaison between constituent group members and members of the Institute, manages and executes programming, including event budgeting, conference space allocations, catering, accommodations, travel, technology and audiovisual needs, gathers content and disseminates meeting and event materials to constituent group members, prepares events spaces, assists with speaker and attendee space access, day of event running, and long-term planning concerning educational programming.

This position interacts with student workers, academic administrators, faculty, K-12 teachers, high school students, prospective donors, as well as venue staff.

The successful candidate must be a proactive, cross-functional team player, creative thinker and independent problem-solver with strong organization and project management skills but also a warm sense of hospitality.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education/Experience/Licensing:

  • Bachelors' degree is required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year related work experience or combination of education and event planning and execution
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to work flexible schedule and sometimes long hours including nights and/or weekends.
  • Outstanding presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment, multitask and prioritize projects and flexibility to adapt to changing goals and priorities
  • Ability to think and perform creatively
  • Self-motivated and well organized with attention to detail, consistency, and accuracy
  • Capable of executing tasks and resolving issues independently with minimal supervision
  • Aptitude for serving as liaison between administrators in higher education and staff in the hospitality industry.
  • Must have the ability to as well as meet the requirements to complete and maintain mandatory training per the University mandatory training policy pursuant to the deadlines set forth therein
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Event coordination, logistical execution, and community outreach
  • Experience working in higher education and/or secondary education environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 software
  • Portfolio or work samples may be requested
