JobPurpose
Material Handlers help ensure we safely and accurately transport materials and finished goods throughout the plant to our customers. This is a second shift position, with varying 8-12 hour shifts based on customer demands. The shift starts at 3 pm.
Job Duties and Responsibilities- Transport materials and inventory to assigned locations using various methods such as forklift, tugger, pallet jack, etc.
- Maintain in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies.
- Collect and properly dispose of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping; maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Maintain inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock; record location of inventory.
- Confirm shipping details or special instructions; expedite shipments that affect the manufacturing process schedule.
- Prepare finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product.
- Prepare and maintain records of materials received and shipped including dates of transactions, locations, and other pertinent information.
- Conduct cycle counts, which includes verifying accuracy of quantity of materials.
- Load finished goods for shipment to customers with industrial truck / material handling equipment.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Prolonged periods of standing & walking.
- Written and verbal communication skills.
