Position

Purpose:

The Operator I operates and maintains sludge, dewatering treatment, processing, and testing equipment in refinery/industrial facility to purify water to meet customer specifications.

• Consistently learn and independently operate assigned machines and equipment meeting or exceeding processing and quality targets.
• Operate equipment such as pumps, engines, centrifuge, generators, valves, gates, mixers, conveyors, blowers, dryers, chemical feed, odor control, disinfection equipment, sludge processing filters, belt presses, measuring/control devices, testing equipment and material handling equipment.
• Work in a team environment and readily assume additional or new responsibilities.
• Use computer programs for process control.

• Works in damp/dusty areas, rain, snow, and extreme temperatures.
• Indoors and outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions.

Education / Experience / Background:

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Some experience in a related position and environment preferred.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

• Read, write and comprehend English operational, process, safety and quality instructions.
• Perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Work alone when needed.
• Serve rotational 24‑hour emergency on‑call if required by site.

• Possess a valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
• Perform minor maintenance duties that require JSA, LOTO forms completed prior to work being done.
• Forklift and backhoe operation, will train if needed.
• Pass a drug test and a criminal background check.

• Lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying up to 50 pounds chest high.
• Wear and use a respirator under certain conditions.
• Stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, balancing, walking, standing, climbing.
