Toledo Tool & Die is adding Weld Inspectors to our team to support our continued growth.
This is a full-time position based in Toledo, Ohio. We offer competitive wages, growth opportunities, and a clean, safe work environment.
Hours for this position are typically:
- 1st shift Monday – Friday 4:00AM – 2:00PM
- 2nd shift Monday – Friday 2:00PM – 12:00AM
* Must be available to work overtime (daily, weekend & some holidays) *

The Certified Weld Inspector is responsible for ensuring all welding activities meet applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements. This role involves inspecting welds, reviewing welding procedures, verifying welder qualifications, and maintaining detailed inspection records to support quality and compliance in manufacturing and fabrication processes.
- Perform visual inspections and non-destructive testing (NDT) of welds in accordance with AWS, ASME, ISO, and customer specifications.
- Review and approve Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welder Performance Qualifications (WPQ).
- Document inspection findings and prepare detailed reports for internal quality records and customer submissions.
- Identify and communicate non-conformances, and work with production and quality teams to resolve issues.
- Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring welding operations meet safety and environmental standards.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Current AWS Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) certification (or equivalent), strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of welding codes and standards
- Minimum (3) years of welding inspection, fabrication, or related experience.
- Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
EXPERIENCE:
- Hands on welding experience.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks requiring bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to work varying hours depending on business needs.
- Mechanical aptitude and experience (work with machines and general tooling).
- Ability to follow proper safety procedures.
- Ability to take direction, coaching, and act positively to improve performance.
- Requires the ability to stand for long periods of time, 8 or more hours.
- Continuous use of vision, hearing and speech.
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking and occasional bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching.
- Will lift, carry, pull / push, and reach for supplies and on occasion lifting (up to 50 lbs.) while performing various aspects of the job.
- Will need to climb stairs, climb ladders, lift and move objects, requires manual dexterity and repetitive use of keyboard/computer devices/power tools/machining equipment;
Wear safety equipment, such as earplugs, goggles, gloves, and steel-toed shoes.
