Job Description General FunctionThe Production Supervisor is responsible for the day‑to‑day activities to achieve established metrics and standards for safety, quality, production, customer service, and people management. The role includes developing high‑performing teams, driving results, overseeing continuous improvement, inspecting outcomes, and building a best‑in‑class working environment. The supervisor leads production teams to achieve daily goals and objectives.
Major Duties and Responsibilities- Work knowledge of all aspects within the manufacturing area
- Monitor and evaluate productivity through team and individual metrics
- Participate and coach employees in continuous improvement processes
- Communicate the company’s unique selling proposition and benefits to the team and accounts
- Convey company policies and procedures to the team
- Coach employees, ensuring timely performance reviews and proper documentation
- Schedule vacation hours in consideration of seasonal workloads
- Maintain production and machine maintenance records and charting
- Communicate with off‑site vendors to troubleshoot machine errors and breakdowns using remote interfaces
- Maintain close association with internal and external accounts, addressing product information and Rx service issues and making decisions on company policies
- Act as a role model, fostering motivation, commitment, and teamwork
- Keep the work area clean, neat, and organized
- Follow all company and manufacturer policies, ensuring compliance with attendance and safety rules and maintaining confidentiality of proprietary and HIPAA protected information
- Assist others as needed to keep work current, meet deadlines, and maintain an even workload; cooperate with coworkers and demonstrate a good attitude
- Provide training, direction, and technical guidance for less experienced coworkers; attend in‑house or sponsored training meetings and management‐offered supervisory classes as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
- 4 years of manufacturing experience
- Problem‑solving skills across multiple departments
- High competency in all aspects of lab manufacturing
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, DVI software)
- Good interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Excellent leadership skills, notably maintaining workflow and a motivating environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to manage interactions with internal and external customers
- Prior supervisory experience is a plus
