Position: Quality Technician 1st Shift (12 hour Shifts)

Toledo Tool & Die is adding a Quality Technician to our 1st shift at Bennett Road team to support our continued growth.

This is a full‑time position based in Toledo, Ohio. We offer competitive wages, growth opportunities, and a clean, safe work environment.

Schedule: 1st shift

Hours: 5:00 AM – 5:00 PM

This position works a rotating 2‑2‑3 schedule with 12‑hour shifts. The schedule follows a two‑week rotation:

  • Week 1: Work 2 days, off 2 days, work 3 days
  • Week 2: Off 2 days, work 2 days, off 3 days

This rotation includes every other weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday).

Please note: This role requires availability for 12‑hour day shifts and adherence to a rotating schedule that includes every other weekend.

Must be available to work overtime (daily, weekends & some holidays)

Key responsibilities
  • Perform First/Last piece audits to verify dimensions of finished parts for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, taper and pin gauges, and dial indicators.
  • Authority to accept or reject finished items.
  • Inspect, test or measure metal stampings being produced. Weld destruct if in the Weld Department.
  • Input and/or report data generated from audits and other sources as needed into various software programs.
  • Organize and maintain check fixture area.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, diagrams or confer with other TTD Management to determine quality & reliability standards.
  • Red tag containers that have nonconforming parts and establish clean point in production between good and suspect product.
  • Perform the essential job functions of Weld Operator when significant downtime is present.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and/or TTD Management representatives.
  • Authority to stop production if unsafe conditions or poor quality exist.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Eligible to work in the United States.
  • Must be able to satisfactorily complete pre‑employment screening (background check and drug screen).
  • Six (6) months previous manufacturing experience, preferably in the quality function that displays progressive work‑related skill, knowledge, or experience in a fast‑paced, high‑volume manufacturing environment. Preferably with a welding background in an OEM or Tier I/II supplier in the automotive environment.
  • Proficiency in various Microsoft Programs, such as Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Ability to read and interpret information from gauges, gauge blocks, micrometers, taper and pin gauges and dial indicators.
  • Must be able to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
  • Report to work on time to support production startup.
  • Possess good physical stamina and coordination.
  • Must be able to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch or climb for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift/push/pull objects that are up to 50 pounds.
  • Work as a team, good communication skills, basic math skills, physical dexterity.
