Job Title: MRO Supervisor, Manufacturing Non-Supervisory

The Tool Stores Supervisor is responsible for the strategic management and control of all Non-Production Materials (NPM) inventory within the plant, ensuring material availability, inventory accuracy, cost effectiveness, and compliance with company financial and operational requirements. This position provides leadership for an hourly team of UAW-represented employees operating across multiple shifts and serves as a key liaison between Maintenance, the Controller's Office, OPC, Purchasing, and third-party service providers.

The successful candidate will drive inventory optimization, support plant operations, lead continuous improvement initiatives, and foster a safe, productive, and engaged work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inventory Management & Control
  • Manage all NPM inventory activities to maintain optimal inventory levels while supporting plant operational requirements.
  • Monitor inventory performance through daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reviews to improve inventory turns, reduce excess stock, minimize obsolescence, and identify high-risk materials.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, negative balances, and transactional errors through root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Lead cycle count activities, audit compliance efforts, and inventory accuracy initiatives.
  • Partner with Maintenance and Finance to identify and disposition excess, slow-moving, or obsolete inventory.

Operational Support

  • Review Tool Store Requests (TSRs), repetitive buys, and inventory demand trends to ensure appropriate replenishment and spending controls.
  • Process interplant transfers, shipments, receipts, and material transactions in accordance with company procedures.
  • Assist plant personnel with the creation and management of RFMs and TSRs.
  • Support OPC purchasing activities, including order management, follow-up, and supplier coordination.
  • Provide NPIC system support and access management as required.
  • Review and validate supplier invoices for accuracy and timely processing.
  • Manage supplier non-conformance issues and facilitate corrective actions to maintain service and quality expectations.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and third-party service providers to resolve inventory, warranty, chemical management, and replenishment concerns.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of UAW-represented employees across all shifts.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Build and maintain positive labor-management relationships while supporting company policies and contractual requirements.
  • Champion 5S, Kaizen, housekeeping, standardized work, and other plant continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support plant and departmental objectives through active participation in pillar activities and cross-functional improvement teams.
Key Must Have’s:
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • SAP experience preferred; training will be provided.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and employee engagement skills.
  • Ability to effectively lead and communicate within a union-represented manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with experience interpreting operational and inventory data.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Demonstrated adaptability, initiative, and willingness to learn new systems, technologies, and business processes.
  • Commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
