Plant Operator

• Inspect cylinders prior to filling according to federal, state, local regulations and Airgas standard operating procedures.
• Conduct safety checks such as odor tests, cap and valve inspections.
• Analyze products for purity and correct mixtures.
• Handle high‑pressure, medical, and liquid cylinders; prepare high‑pressure cylinders and cryogenic vessels for filling.
• Attach to manifold and evacuate cylinders to eliminate contaminants.
• Fill cylinders by pressure and weight per regulations and standards.
• Assist with loading and unloading of cylinders on and off pallets and tractor trailers.
• Operate forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment.
• Manage paperwork to meet DOT, FDA, OSHA, and Airgas standards; complete quality control sheets as required.
• Read and interpret cylinder labels and color coding to understand hazards; accurately label cylinders.
• Maintain a neat, clean, and orderly plant appearance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum one year of prior experience in a manufacturing operation, preferably in filling or loading.
• Strong background in gas, welding, safety supply, or chemical industry preferred.
• Ability to work outdoors in various seasonal weather conditions, including temperatures ranging from
  -10 to over 100 degrees.
• Ability to endure loud noises and odors that may be present for extended periods.
