Job Summary: Plans and directs daily operations to coordinate corporate, hospital and unit goals, and provides leadership, direction, and guidance to the Department of Surgical Services (including Pre Op, PACU, OR, Sterile Processing, Preadmissions Clinic, Short Stay Unit, Endoscopy, and some Outpatient/Ambulatory services dependent on business unit).

Required Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree. Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

    Experience:

    Must have a minimum of 3 years in perioperative nursing.
  • License: Must be an RN with a current licensure in the State of Ohio or Michigan (dependent on location working).
  • Certification: BLS, ACLS, PALS

    Experience:

    5 years in perioperative nursing, a minimum of 3 of those years at the management level.

Working Conditions

Personal Protective Equipment: Demonstrates knowledge and use of standard precautions and PPE. Demonstrates knowledge and use of safe patient handling equipment.

Physical Demands: Must be able to tolerate exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, temperature changes, and exposure to blood borne pathogens and bodily fluids. Must be able to attain all health requirements as identified by the organization (i.e., PPD, respirator training, vaccines, as appropriate). Must be able to move about hospital and between workstations, and prolonged periods of standing. Must be able to frequently move, lift or carry light to heavy patients or equipment.

Must be able to lift medium materials, non-material handling; continuous standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching; frequent pushing, pulling, and squatting. Occasional sitting, stairs, and kneeling.
