Registered Nurse; RN – Surgery – St. Vincent Medical Center

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of patient care and teaching through the nursing process. The Registered Nurse directs and guides the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing and the established policies and procedures of the organization. Assists in the provision of care to patients of all age groups.

• Provide direct patient care to individuals of all age groups.
• Direct and guide the activities of nursing personnel.
• Maintain professional standards and comply with organizational policies and procedures.
• Assist in teaching nursing staff and new hires.
• Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.

• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrates knowledge and skill in nursing theory and practice of the nursing process.
• Must meet specialty unit criteria if assigned to a specialty unit.

• Education:
  
  Graduate of an accredited college, university, or institution.
• Experience:
  
  Preferred.
• Registration, Certification, or Licensure:
  Current Ohio RN licensure; BLS certification required. Other department‑specific certifications may be required.

  8‑hour shifts
• Hours per pay period: 80
• Weekend, holiday, and on‑call rotation required per department policy.
