Description:
This position is for approximately 6 months, although this timeframe may change based on internal hiring. Shifts will be from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Candidates should be comfortable with frequent stair climbing and descending as the facility consists of two floors. Training will be provided for 2 weeks. Training will include Pill Call Pass training and pharmacy training.
Responsibilities include administering nursing care within the scope of practice as defined by the relevant Ohio Revised Code under the direction of licensed professionals. Duties involve administering oxygen, applying sterile dressings, inserting catheters, and performing wound care. Preparation and administration of medications will include controlled drugs and non-controlled medications in various forms. Maintaining medication accountability records and documenting patient conditions is required.
Providing general nursing care and assistance with daily living activities will be part of the role. Assisting in emergencies by administering first aid, performing CPR, and restraining patients when necessary is expected. The nurse will be responsible for observing, documenting, and reporting patient conditions, treatment responses, and behavior. The role includes ordering medical supplies and maintaining cleanliness in the nursing area.
Participation in staff conferences, committees, and interdisciplinary team meetings is expected. Knowledge of skilled nursing procedures, pharmacology, and client care is essential for this position. Skills in using medical equipment and proficiency in operating a personal computer are required. The ability to understand practical fields of study and effectively deal with both concrete and abstract variables is necessary.
