The Endoscopy Technician is responsible for providing technical and clinical support to physicians and nursing staff during endoscopic procedures. This position ensures patient safety by preparing procedure rooms, maintaining and reprocessing endoscopic equipment, assisting during procedures, and adhering to infection prevention standards. The Endoscopy Technician plays an essential role in delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
PatientCare & Procedure Support
- Prepare patients for designated endoscopic procedures as directed by the physician and nursing staff.
- Assist physicians during endoscopic procedures by providing instruments, supplies, and technical support.
- Promote a safe, respectful, and compassionate environment for patients and their families.
- Demonstrate professionalism, empathy, sensitivity, and respect in all patient interactions.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, anesthesia providers, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Foster positive relationships that promote patient, physician, and staff satisfaction.
- Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to assist with departmental needs.
- Complete all required documentation accurately, legibly, and within established time frames.
- Maintain records related to equipment maintenance, reprocessing, and specimen handling as required.
- Properly collect, label, handle, and transport patient specimens according to organizational policies.
- Accurately complete laboratory requisitions and pathology/culture documentation.

- One (1) year of experience as an Endoscopy Technician preferred but not required.
