Critical Care Transport Nurse

Responsible for providing emergency nursing care in a prompt and efficient manner to all patients transported via Mercy St. Vincent's Life Flight. Responsible for assessing, planning, organizing, documenting, and evaluating patient care in conjunction with the flight physician or critical care transport paramedic. The Critical Care Transport Nurse acts as a professional representative of Mercy St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center and St.

Rita's Medical Center to the community, as an educator to professional groups, to emergency medical services and promotes Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center and St. Rita's Medical Center as regional referral centers. Assists in the provision of care to patients of all age groups (neonate, pediatric, adult and geriatric).

Education
  • Required Minimum Education:

    2 year Associates Degree Specialty/Major:
    Nursing
  • Preferred Education:

    4 year Bachelors Degree Specialty/Nursing
Licensure/Certification s

Required:

  • Must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the State of Ohio.
  • CAMTS approved advanced certification (CCRN, CSC, ACNPC, CEN, CPEN, CFRN, or CTRN) required or obtained within one year of hire.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required.
  • Basic Trauma Life Support Certification required within 6 months of hire.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 6 months of hire.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required within 6 months of hire.

Preferred:

  • Michigan Registered Nurse license.
  • BCLS Instructor certification preferred.
  • ACLS Instructor certification preferred.
  • EMT Certification preferred.
Experience
  • 3 years of professional nursing experience in critical care with at least 1 year of emergency care experience.

Hours per pay period:
Includes: nights, weekends and holidays.
