We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Part Time Associate Veterinarian to join our team at Shoreland Animal Hospital
. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing high‑quality veterinary care and possess excellent communication skills to build lasting relationships with our clients. You will work alongside a team of experienced veterinarians, technicians, and support staff and will work closely with the Hospital Manager and Regional Director.

Shoreland Animal Hospital has been providing Northwest Ohio and Southern Michigan pets with compassionate veterinary care for 20 years. As a full‑service hospital, we provide a wide range of veterinary services, from wellness exams and vaccinations to dental care, internal medicine, and surgical services.

We are an experienced team offering general wellness care, emergency and critical care, advanced diagnostics, dental, laser therapy and more to a well‑established clientele. Our team continually promotes the welfare of patients through excellence in veterinary medicine and shares knowledge and experience through supportive mentorship.

• Comprehensive patient exams and medical work‑ups
• Client communication and education
• Performing diagnostic procedures and surgery
• Maintaining accurate medical records
• Pharmacy duties such as prescribing medications and following controlled substance protocols
• Promote teamwork and staff efficiency
• Work with the Hospital Manager on weekly priorities and expectations
• Evaluate and monitor protocols for daily hospital operations from intake to discharge
• Monitor cases and attend daily rounds when possible to ensure highest standards are upheld
• Participate in practice management updates and training at all levels
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older
• Veterinarian degree (DVM or VMD) from an accredited college or university
• Current state veterinary license
• DEA registration must be obtained and maintained
• At least 1 year of experience in a veterinary practice
• Strong diagnostic and clinical skills
• Excellent surgical and dental skills
• Ability to work well in a team‑oriented environment
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
• Commitment to providing compassionate and high‑quality veterinary care
• Client communication skills, including eliciting information, establishing rapport, and offering explanations to pet owners
• Display confidence and reassurance when dealing with pets experiencing severe stress, illness, or pain
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

• Clinical knowledge and skill in examining and assessing animals, including cardiovascular, respiratory, orthopedic, neurological, and other essential examinations
• Problem‑solving ability to develop solutions for managing a high‑quality veterinary hospital
• Effective communication of diagnostic and therapeutic options to clients and internal staff
• Professionalism, constructive criticism, suggestions, and feedback
• Business acumen for understanding management and finances of the practice
• Knowledge of ethical principles guiding patient care decisions
• Commitment to continuing education and facilitating learning for others
