The Quality Manager leads the quality assurance function to ensure all manufactured products meet customer and internal requirements. This role is responsible for implementing and maintaining quality systems aligned with IATF 16949 and customer‑specific requirements, driving continuous improvement, and promoting a culture of quality throughout the organization.
Essential Job Functions- Lead, manage, and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) to comply with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer requirements.
- Manage and develop the quality team including engineers, technicians, and inspectors.
- Act as the primary contact for customer quality issues, audits, and concerns; lead the resolution of complaints using root cause analysis and corrective action tools (8D, 5‑Why, Fishbone).
- Lead internal and external audits, including preparation, execution, and follow‑up.
- Develop and monitor key quality metrics and drive corrective action plans.
- Maintain document control and quality records as per customer and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to ensure robust quality planning and production processes.
- Lead problem‑solving activities and continuous improvement projects using industry best practices.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and customer standards for safety, environmental, and product performance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field and 8 years of experience in manufacturing and quality roles OR in lieu of a degree, 10+ years of experience in manufacturing and quality roles.
- Strong knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and core quality tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, 8D).
- Experience leading a quality team and working with OEM/Tier 1 customers.
