About the Role

Join us as a Cashier at Fresh Thyme Farmers Market. The cashier is responsible for the efficient expedition of customer sales transactions at the front registers, maintaining cash control, ensuring customer satisfaction, and safeguarding company assets. Assist customers and maintain a friendly, energetic demeanor.

• Walk the store prior to each shift to ensure awareness of promotional and sale items; conduct produce walk and weekly testing.
• Compute bill, itemized lists, and tickets showing amount due.
• Receive payment by cash, check, credit cards, gift cards, or automatic debits.
• Issue receipts, refunds, credits, rain checks or change due to customers.
• Operate cash register by passing price coded items across electronic scanner to record price, entering PLU or UPC manually, compiling printed list, and displaying cost of customer purchase, tax, and rebates on monitor screen.
• Greet customers entering store and respond promptly to customer needs.
• Maintain clean and orderly checkout areas and ensure no personnel items are in the area.
• Issue coupons and rain checks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalency degree.
• Preferred 1‑2 years grocery retail experience in Front End department processes and procedures.
• Previous experience in a natural foods industry is a plus.

Salary range: $14.50 - $16.00 per hour, with raises occurring in accordance with Fresh Thyme Market plan policy. The actual rate offered will meet or surpass the legal wage requirement for the job's location.
