• Provide customer service to staff and visitors at a public-facing library location by following Allied Universal procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities.
• Carry and maintain assigned firearm and related equipment in accordance with licensing requirements, post orders, and Allied Universal policies, including conducting required equipment checks and completing related documentation.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using de-escalation techniques and coordinating with local law enforcement and/or emergency services as needed.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the facility, reading areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help deter unwanted activity, identify hazards, and report maintenance concerns.
• Monitor access points and key areas, observe for suspicious behavior, and complete timely reports for security-related incidents, patron issues, and/or policy violations.

• Possess an armed guard card/license.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
