Role Description The Lead Surveillance Agent is a part-time, mobile role based in Toledo, OH, responsible for planning, conducting, and overseeing surveillance operations for a variety of investigative cases. This position coordinates surveillance strategies, assigns tasks to field agents, and ensures accurate documentation of activities, evidence, and observations. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting mobile and stationary surveillance, maintaining detailed case notes and reports, and using video and photographic equipment to collect and preserve evidence.

The Lead Surveillance Agent collaborates with clients to clarify case objectives, ensures compliance with legal and ethical standards. The role also involves reviewing surveillance footage, preparing summaries for client reports, and supporting case development through clear communication with investigative leadership.

Qualifications

  • Strong surveillance and field operations skills, including mobile and stationary surveillance, situational awareness, and evidence collection.
  • Proficiency in report writing, documentation, and clear written communication to summarize findings for clients and internal teams.
  • Ability to lead and coordinate investigative activities, provide direction to other agents, and manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Working knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards related to privacy, surveillance, and investigations.
  • Experience using video, photographic, and GPS tools, as well as basic computer applications for case management and reporting.
  • Prior background in investigations, security, or law enforcement is strongly preferred; experience in insurance, legal, or corporate investigations is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation suitable for discreet surveillance work.
  • Ability to work irregular hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on case demands.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism, with the ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or professional certifications in investigations or criminal justice are beneficial.
