MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
Position Type: Temp to Hire
Position
Hours:
1st Shift: 5:00am - 3:15pm
Position Salary: $25.00/Hour
Position Location: Toledo, OH
Position Summary: As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial machinery and mechanical equipment. This position requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and hand/power tools.
Key Responsibilities- Inspect, repair, and maintain mechanical equipment such as conveyors, shredders, pumps, gearboxes, motors, and bearings.
- Perform preventive maintenance according to established schedules from Express Maintenance system.
- Install and align new equipment according to blueprint/drawings.
- Diagnose mechanical problems and determine solutions using technical manuals, schematics, and personal expertise.
- Operate cutting, welding, and fabrication tools safely and effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and parts usage via Express Maintenance platform.
- Collaborate with electricians, operators, and engineers to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Some knowledge/experience with 480V/3 phase electrical is a plus but not required.
- Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and PPE requirements according to company policy.
- Must be able to work well as part of a team to get task completed and/or self-manage tasks that are needing completed by yourself.
- 2+ years of experience as a millwright type or industrial maintenance technician a plus but not needed
- Must be ok working in a dusty/dirty environment, with proper PPE provided by the company.
- Proficient with hand and power tools, measurement instruments, and rigging equipment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Ability to read blueprints, equipment manuals, and schematics.
- Welding and fabrication experience a plus (MIG and Stick).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in confined spaces, at heights, or in varying temperatures.
- Must be able to work overtime, weekends, or holidays as needed.
