What’s your day like?

As a Sewer and Drain Technician, your day-to-day responsibilities will immerse you in the heart of plumbing and drain services. You will start each day by reviewing and planning scheduled jobs, focusing on both residential and commercial plumbing work. Expect to operate state-of-the-art equipment, including sewer cameras and hydro jetting tools, to diagnose and resolve plumbing issues. You’ll work closely with experienced technicians, learning the ins and outs of drain cleaning and trenchless sewer repairs while adhering to core values of integrity and safety.

As you gain experience, you will manage sewer line inspections and undertake emergency plumbing jobs, ensuring customer satisfaction.

Whether you’re handling routine drain technician tasks or complex sewer cleaning jobs, each day will be a rewarding challenge on your path to becoming a skilled plumbing technician.

To excel in this role, you’ll need a diverse skill set that covers technical expertise and customer interaction. Proficiency in drain cleaning and sewer line diagnostics is essential, along with hands-on experience using sewer machines and cable equipment. Familiarity with hydro-jetting, sewer camera inspections, and the ability to locate and identify line blockages will contribute to your success. A solid understanding of both residential and commercial drain systems, along with trenchless pipe repair knowledge, is crucial.

Reading and interpreting sewer camera footage effectively is important.

Additionally, strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot drainage issues are valuable. Safe equipment operation and job site safety practices are mandatory, along with the ability to lift heavy equipment. Excellent customer service, clear communication with clients, and effective time management will enable you to work independently while maintaining a proactive approach. A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required, along with a willingness to work outdoors and in confined spaces.
