Position: Field Service Technician 1

Mechanical Field Service Technician I – Toledo & Surrounding Areas

CPI is seeking a full‑time Mechanical Field Service Technician I to serve the Toledo and surrounding areas.

What you’ll be doing

The Field Service Technician is responsible for servicing, fixing, upgrading, and performing preventative maintenance on various types of equipment such as coin & currency equipment, ATMs, software, and specialized office products located at client sites.

To guarantee ongoing success, you will work in coordination with branch sales and other service team members.

  • Service, upgrade and perform preventative maintenance on company electromechanical equipment
  • Travel by vehicle daily to client sites (90%) with overnight travel as needed (10%) – some long drive times may be encountered depending on the geographical territory covered
  • Work with branch employees to satisfy client needs
  • Address customer service requests within the specified contract response time
  • Extended hours coverage periods and on‑call duty where applicable
  • Safeguard and maintain a balanced vehicle stock parts inventory
  • Keep the company issued vehicle clean and maintain scheduled service intervals
  • Safeguard any company issued assets including tablet computer and mobile phone
  • All other duties as required
Qualifications
  • Impeccable integrity
  • 1+ year of experience as a technician, field service, mechanical role or similar profession
  • Must be able to access highly secured environments; occupational licenses may be required depending on territory or accounts
  • Strong electromechanical aptitude is a plus, not a must
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including a positive, customer‑first attitude
  • Personable, approachable, and able to work easily with others at all levels
  • Strong attention to details – able to proof and prioritize your own work
  • Proficient in iOS, MS Office applications, and Windows OS
  • Ability to set and track goals independently, initiate and follow through on assignments without coaching, and work proactively as a team player
  • Able to commit to and meet project deadlines
Physical Requirements
  • Available for periodic travel to the corporate office in Mt. Prospect, IL for training classes
  • Able to lift, push, or carry a minimum of 50 pounds such as large money counting machines and parts in and out of client sites
  • The job requires kneeling, bending, twisting, lifting and squatting to service equipment on the ground up to 60% of the time
  • Hand and wrist dexterity needed to turn screwdrivers and place parts and equipment
  • Phone or desk work about 10% of the time doing computer work, bench repair work, parts stocking, tracking service calls, and setting up appointments
  • Ability to stand for long periods up to 75% of the time while servicing some equipment
