Facility Maintenance Technician

Facility Maintenance Technician Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain and build new buildings.
• Perform general maintenance, installation, repair and service.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and semiannual roof inspections at various sites.
• Effectively work with a variety of hand/power tools.
• Pool knowledge with other Facility Maintenance Technicians to accomplish complex projects.
• Complete work requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Keep track of company truck and gas card.
• Participate in ongoing continuous U‑Haul education through U‑Haul University.

• Experience in any of the following areas: electrical, A/C, HVAC, plumbing or landscaping
• Valid driver’s license
• D.O.T. certification (can be sponsored by U‑Haul)

The work involves moderate risks or discomforts that require special safety precautions, such as working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or irritant chemicals. Protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves or shields may be required.

The work requires physical exertion, including long periods of standing or walking both indoors and outdoors, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs, either assisted or unassisted.
