2nd Shift Master Electrician

This role focuses on industrial electrical maintenance with a strong mechanical component in a climate-controlled food manufacturing facility. You will perform approximately 80% electrical and 20% mechanical maintenance on a variety of industrial systems, including refrigeration and production equipment, while working on the 2nd shift. The position requires advanced troubleshooting skills, hands-on repair work, and the ability to connect to and work with PLC systems to ensure reliable, safe, and efficient operation of plant equipment.

• Perform approximately 80% electrical and 20% mechanical maintenance on industrial production and support equipment.
• Maintain and troubleshoot ammonia refrigeration equipment, chillers, freezers, conveyor lines, air compressors, and other facility-specific machinery.
• Connect a personal computer to PLC systems via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth to monitor operations, diagnose faults, and troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Upload, review, and modify PLC logic, including Allen-Bradley ladder logic, to support maintenance activities and improve system reliability.
• Interpret PLC inputs and outputs on the screen to identify and resolve machine problems using PLC-based troubleshooting methods.
• Perform electrical troubleshooting on systems up to 480V single-phase and three-phase power.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues involving pneumatics, hydraulics, sensors, valves, bearings, motors, bushings, and related components.
• Remove, replace, and align motors and other mechanical components as needed to restore equipment to proper operation.
• Perform MIG and stick welding on stainless steel equipment as part of maintenance and repair activities.
• Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and mechanical drawings to plan and execute repairs and installations.
• Carry out minor machining, installation, and rigging tasks to support equipment maintenance and projects.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on industrial machinery to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
• Document maintenance activities, repairs, and changes to PLC logic in an accurate and timely manner.
• Collaborate with other maintenance and production team members to prioritize work and support continuous operation.
• Respond to maintenance calls and be prepared to start shifts up to two hours earlier when required by production demands.
• Follow all safety procedures and best practices when working with electrical systems, mechanical equipment, welding operations, and refrigeration systems.

• At least 8 years of industrial maintenance experience, with a strong background in manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Ability to perform approximately 70–80% electrical and 20–30% mechanical work in an industrial maintenance setting.
• Proficiency in using a personal computer to connect to PLCs via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth for monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs and the ability to read and troubleshoot ladder logic programs.
• Ability to interpret PLC inputs and outputs on the screen and use them to diagnose and resolve machine problems.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting skills on systems up to 480V single-phase and three-phase.
• Mechanical troubleshooting skills in pneumatics, hydraulics, sensors, valves, bearings, motors, and related components.
• Experience with MIG and stick welding, particularly on stainless steel equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Industrial maintenance and machine repair experience, including preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Ownership and regular use of personal tools suitable for industrial electrical and mechanical maintenance work.
• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• Willingness and ability to work 2nd shift (approximately 2:00 p.m.–10:30 p.m.), Monday through Friday, with the expectation of working a sixth day twice per month.
• Flexibility to report to work up to two hours before the scheduled shift start time when needed.
• Strong troubleshooting mindset and the ability to work independently and safely in a fast-paced industrial environment.
