Electrician

Pearson Center 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. 8 hours, 5 days a week

Primary Job Function:

Preforms electrical maintenance work in a large institutional setting. Tasks may vary from replacing ballast to setting electrical poles. This employee typically works alone with limited supervision and may work various shifts as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS

General Duties:

Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit. Must pass Toledo Public Schools physical and personality testing.

Knowledge of:

• Must be knowledgeable about high energy discharged ballasts and bucket truck work.
• Must be knowledgeable about programmable electric service panels.
• Computer and Software programs within the district

Skilled in:

Positive Customer Service

Ability to:

Multitask, stay organized

Education and Certification:

• High School Graduate or G.E.D
• Must be a journeyman electrician and have completed apprentice program.
• Must be conversant with national and local electrical codes. City of Toledo journeyman electrician license required.
• Must possess knowledge, training, certification, and work ethic to perform duties of maintenance electrician in large institutional setting.
• Must be able to drive service vehicle, possess valid drivers’ license and meet Toledo Public Schools vehicle insurance criteria and maintain same.
• Must pass Toledo Public Schools physical and personality testing

  Experience:
• Minimum seven (7) years’ experience as journeyman electrician required, electrical maintenance in large institutional setting would be a plus.
• Must be knowledgeable about high energy discharged ballasts and bucket truck work.
• Must be knowledgeable about programmable electric service panels.

Driving Requirement:

This job description does require the incumbent to drive; however, any employee who chooses or is asked to drive a TPS vehicle for work-related community business must receive written annual authorization to do so. Must be able to drive service vehicle, possess valid drivers’ license and meet Toledo Public Schools vehicle insurance criteria and maintain same.

Salary: $29.40 Per Hour
