Job Description
Responsible for case management and supervision of juvenile sex offenders and other juvenile offenders as assigned
ResponsibilitiesCourt Expectations of Employee:

- Job will entail some evening hours and will require working a flexible schedule
Essential Job Functions:
- Maintains caseload consisting of adolescent sex offenders and other juvenile offenders; meets with families and youth; supervises, assists and counsels probationers as ordered by Court; implements Court Orders; files probation violations; appears in Court to testify; assists in devising case plan for probationers; determines risk level of probationers; makes recommendations to the Court.
- Serves as a facilitator to the community based sexual behavior treatment groups for youth and their parents.
- Enforces attendance and participation in the sexual behavior specific treatment program as well as completion of all program assignments for sex offenders and their families.
- Acts as a court liaison to the community based sexual behavior treatment team.
- Attends specialized training regarding juvenile sex offenders as required.
- Works with community providers to provide SBT programming and treatment services.
- Develops and implements appropriate treatment plans to allow youth to facilitate treatment in their home communities; and focuses on identifying and developing goals based on individual strengths and needs.
- Conducts individual youth and family counseling sessions in the youth's home, detention center, schools, agencies or other locations as required.
- Refers youth and/or their families to specialized services and/or programs sponsored by the Court, community agencies or other approved service providers. Acts as a liaison between the youth and/or their families and the service provider to ensure delivery of the recommended service(s).
- Maintains contact standards for youth's assigned supervision level.
- Travel to visit youth that are in an out-of-home placement.
- Visits youth's school to monitor adjustment and to confer with school personnel regarding the youth.
- Maintains case notes, develops treatment plans, and implements sanctions for violations of probation as prescribed by departmental policy.
- Gathers collateral information on cases from community agencies and treatment service providers.
- Appears in Court to provide testimony and present recommendations as required. Confers with prosecutors, attorneys, magistrates and judges in conjunction with court hearings.
- Prepares and processes items such as motions to show cause, requests for minor warrants, requests for psychological evaluations, placement checklist forms, correspondence and other reports as required.
- Prepares and processes reports concerning known or suspected cases of child abuse as required by policy and law.
- Collects and properly processes urine samples for substance abuse testing.
- Makes referrals for the assessment and treatment of substance abuse related problems. Attends staffings at substance abuse treatment facilities to monitor youth's treatment progress.
