Van Driver

Essential Functions

• Complete a safety check of the school van as required by the State of Ohio Regulation  before each run.
• Responsible for safe operating conditions and cleanliness of the van.
• Maintain routes, stops and time schedules as established by the supervisor. Make suggestions for more efficient routing but permission must be granted by the transportation supervisor prior to any change.
• Prepare and maintain reports, route maps, schedules, pupil lists and accident reports as required by the State of Ohio, Ohio Department of Education and the Board of Education.
• Conducts all work in a safe and responsible manner.
• Conduct other duties as assigned by the administration.

• Valid driver's license with school van certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must meet requirements of the Ohio Department of Education and the district’s Board Policy.
• Completion of satisfactory van certification program by a WLS Transportation Trainer.
• Be physically qualified as determined by annual physical examination required by the State ofOhio.
• Passage of the required drug test and passage of random drug tests.
• Possess BCI and FBI clearances and enroll in Rapback.

• Must conform to the ODE physical qualifications for school van drivers.
• Demonstrates reliability, timeliness and good attendance.
• Demonstration of and commitment to Washington Local School District’s Portrait of Panther
