POSITION SUMMARY

The Mechanical Engineer in R&D will design, develop, test, and improve mechanical systems, components, and products from concept through production. This role partners closely with cross functional teams-including electrical, software, manufacturing, and quality-to deliver innovative, reliable, and cost effective solutions aligned with business and customer needs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Design and develop mechanical components and systems for new and existing products

* Take ownership of mechanical design activities from concept, prototyping, and testing through release

* Create and maintain 3D CAD models, drawings, and technical documentation

* Perform engineering analyses (tolerance, thermal, structural, FMEA, DFA/DFM)

* Develop and execute test plans; analyze data and recommend design improvements

* Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure designs are producible and cost-effective

* Support prototype builds, validation testing, and product launches

* Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

* Work with suppliers and external partners as needed for component development

* Ensure compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and company procedures

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

* Minimum of 5 years of mechanical engineering experience, preferably in the R&D Environment

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

* Strong proficiency with CAD tools (NX, Windchill / Creo is plus)

* Experience with product development lifecycle and prototype testing

* Solid understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes

* Ability to interpret and create engineering drawings and specifications

* Strong problem solving, analytical, and documentation skills

* Effective communication and collaboration skills
