Job Summary
Global Partners is looking for a Food Service Supervisor / Deli Lead. Our Fresh Food Supervisor is responsible for directing and supervising all activities in the deli and food service department and its personnel to achieve merchandising, sales and guest service goals established for the department.
Job Description- Direct department personnel, meeting department goals and objectives, communicating directly with store management and department supervisors.
- Selecting, onboarding and coaching all new team members.
- Scheduling all team members.
- Offer product information, provide selling suggestions and active sampling while giving a genuine thank you.
- Take guest orders, ensure orders are completed on time and to the guest’s satisfaction.
- Ensure department personnel follow all county, city and company food safety and sanitation guidelines and policies.
- Order products and supplies necessary to maintain adequate stock levels and keep merchandising standards met.
- Oversee the preparation, serving and merchandising of deli/food service items including breakfast, lunch and dinner entrees, fried foods, pizzas, prepared salads, soups, sandwiches, roller grill items, hot and cold beverages and snack items.
- Display deli and food service items following departmental and company merchandising guidelines.
- Follow product recipes without deviation.
- Rotate deli/food service items for sale, ensuring quality, safety and product shrink control.
- Receive merchandise for sale and supplies, audit invoices, break down orders, position cases of products in storage, refrigerated walk‑in coolers or frozen walk‑ins/freezers.
- Periodically count products for inventory purposes.
- Complete all paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
- Process cash register transactions, give back change and issue refunds.
- Use scale printer machine, ensuring weights and pricing are correct.
- Monitor product pricing, signage, placement, shelf tags and shelf signage.
- Keep sales counters, food prep areas, warehouse shelving, walk‑in coolers and freezers clean, neat and orderly.
- Ensure all personnel use proper safety equipment and procedures.
- Perform other duties as needed or assigned by management.
- Work with deli ingredients such as meat, vegetables, fruits, spices, nuts, flavorings, sauces and oils.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
- Flexibility to work weekend, holiday and/or evening shifts and assist other locations as needed.
- 2 years prior experience in a fresh foods environment, preferably in a managerial role.
- Must have reliable transportation and an active driver’s license.
- Serv Safe certification preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Work in walk‑in coolers and freezers.
- Stand for long periods, bend and twist below waist, frequently lift and maneuver merchandise, and reach above shoulder height.
- Dexterous hands and fingers for operating knives, slicers, burners, ovens, fryers and rotisseries.
- Vocational or technical education equivalent to a high school diploma.
$18.44 - $21.44
